A little bit about myself

Hello,
my name is Oliver. I am currently a lighting artist at Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and work on the animated TV series Clone Wars.

Born in Nürnberg, Germany and grown up in neighbouring Fürth, I always had a passion for cartoons and movies. My favorite shows were Signor Rossi, Captain Future and Vicky the Viking. I also was very fascinated by technology and started playing games on an old Atari 2600 system and soon later had my first Atari 260 ST. Yeah, the good old times.

Later, during my university years studying computer science, i started working at a broadcaster and have done a few no-budget short movies with colleageus and friends. Yeah, I was doing all the dirty jobs, like dollying, crane operation, grip, lighting assistant, camera assistant and so on, but I did love it.

After graduating I still continued at the broadcaster and started freelancing.

The most important thing in a job for me is - to love what I do.

Other interests

One of my favorite things to do is travelling. I've already been to many places around the world, but still wish to see more. Part of what I love while travelling is trekking. It's one of the best ways to experience the country and its fauna and flora. Eating and cooking is another favorite and I'm willing to try almost everything at least once, no matter how exotic it is.

Music also plays a big role in my life. It has always been there and I can't imagine life without great music.

I love to be active and do any kind of sport, that promises me to be fun. I did play football (soccer for the us americans) , tennis and basketball in sport clubs. Recently i started visiting a muay thai box club and go there twice a week to stay fit. In general i like to socialize and hang out with fun people, but don't mind sitting at home and enjoying a quiet evening.
