style

I recently saw "Renaissance" and was fascinated by the look. Compared to Sin City it was taking the style to another level, as it was avoiding grey and just working with black and white. The contrast can't get any better.

To work with this style requires very good lighting, because the scene and what is happening is described by light and shadow only. I hope i can pull it off. That being siad, i want to sprinkle the movie with a few colors though, depending on the shot. The idea is to emphasise certain things that are happening.

Next to the movie color comes the style for the camera and editing. The scenes with the assassin have classic camera from a tripod. A clean look in camera movement and editing is what i want to achieve.

The state officer scenes will have focal shift, zooms, and hand camera. Nothing is concrete and planned and so is the camera and editing.

Renaissance is the movie that inspired me for this. The screenshot you see below is from that movie.
